The key points

Send your accident and vehicle details online. We review the circumstances and confirm whether Alfa can accept your case. For accepted cases, you pay nothing for the agreed repairs and replacement-car hire, even if we cannot recover those costs from the other driver’s insurer. Acceptance, repair scope and hire arrangements are confirmed in writing before you commit.

Why start with Alfa Body Works?

Speak directly with your local repair workshop. See where your vehicle will be assessed and repaired, discuss the proposed work with our team and get clear information about the repair arrangements. Our real workshop photographs and video below show the facilities behind the service.

Damage assessment

We look at the affected areas and discuss what needs inspection, repair or replacement. Clear photos help us start the conversation.

Repair communication

We provide repair details for the insurer or claims representative where appropriate and explain the workshop’s next steps.

Bodywork and paint

Agreed work may include panel beating, bumper repairs, panel replacement, preparation, colour matching and refinishing.

From enquiry to collection

How not at fault insurance repairs work at Alfa

  1. Complete the guided eligibility enquiry. Tell us about the accident, the other driver’s details and your transport needs. Add photos if you have them. You can still enquire if information is missing.
  2. Arrange a repair assessment. We discuss the visible damage and whether an inspection is needed. Damage behind panels, bumpers or trim may not be apparent in a photo.
  3. Receive written acceptance and arrangements. If we accept your case under our no-cost offer, we confirm the agreed repairs, replacement vehicle and hire period in writing. You do not pay for those agreed repairs or hire, even if recovery from the other insurer is unsuccessful.
  4. Complete the agreed repairs. We carry out the authorised bodywork and refinishing. The schedule depends on the work, parts and any additional approvals needed.
  5. Arrange collection. Once the work and checks are complete, we discuss collection and any relevant paint-care advice.

Unsure whether the vehicle is safe to drive? Do not drive it if you believe it may be unsafe. Call to discuss the damage and arrange appropriate assessment and transport.

OUR NO-COST PROMISE FOR ACCEPTED CASES

We carry the recovery risk. You do not.

If Alfa accepts your not-at-fault case, you pay nothing for the agreed repairs and replacement-car hire. If the other driver’s insurer refuses to pay or recovery is unsuccessful, Alfa covers those costs.

  • Your repairs: the accepted repair scope is confirmed in writing before work begins.
  • Your replacement car: the vehicle and agreed hire period are confirmed before you accept it.
  • Your decision: we review the accident first and explain whether we can accept the case. Completing the form does not automatically approve a claim or book repairs.

Already claimed through your own insurer? Tell us before changing any existing arrangements. Your policy’s notification requirements and any existing claim excess should be checked with your insurer.

Three simple steps

Check your eligibility for no-cost repairs.

Tell us about the accident, your vehicle and transport needs, then how to contact you. Photos are optional. You can enquire if you are uninsured, unsure about fault or already have a claim open.

Our team reviews every enquiry. We confirm acceptance and the agreed no-cost repairs and replacement-car hire in writing before you commit. Please do not upload identity documents.

We use your details and photos to respond to your repair enquiry. Prefer to speak with us? Call (03) 9580 6996 during workshop hours.

What happens after you enquire?

Our team reviews the information and contacts you to discuss the accident, damage and transport needs. If we accept your case, we confirm the agreed repairs and replacement-car hire in writing. You pay nothing for those services, even if the other driver’s insurer does not pay.

Clear answers before you book

Not-at-fault repair questions

Who can enquire about not at fault insurance repairs?

Contact us if you believe another driver caused the accident and your vehicle needs body repairs. You can also enquire if you are unsure about fault or information is missing. Our team reviews the circumstances and confirms whether Alfa can accept your case under the no-cost offer.

What if the other driver’s insurer refuses to pay?

If Alfa has accepted your case under our no-cost offer, we cover the agreed repair and replacement-car hire costs even if the other driver’s insurer refuses to pay or recovery is unsuccessful. We confirm acceptance and the included repairs and hire in writing before you commit.

Does completing the form mean my case is accepted?

No. The form sends your details to our team for an individual review. We contact you to discuss the circumstances and confirm whether we can accept the case. The no-cost promise applies once Alfa confirms acceptance and the agreed repair and replacement-car arrangements in writing.

Will I have to pay an excess?

If Alfa accepts your case under this no-cost offer, you pay nothing for the agreed repairs and replacement-car hire. If you have an existing claim through your own insurance policy, ask your insurer about any excess or policy charges and tell us before changing those arrangements.

Can I choose Alfa Body Works as my repairer?

Tell your insurer or claims representative that you would like Alfa Body Works to assess and repair your vehicle. Ask whether your policy or claim arrangements allow this and obtain any required approval. We can provide repair information to support the assessment.

What if I have already lodged a claim?

You can still contact us. Tell us your insurer, claim number and whether a repairer has already been appointed or work authorised. We can discuss an assessment and any approvals needed for Alfa to carry out the repair. Check with your insurer before changing existing arrangements.

Do I have to claim on my own insurance?

You can enquire about our no-cost service before making a claim on your own policy. Our team will review the circumstances and discuss the available repair arrangements. You should still check and follow your policy’s accident-notification requirements, and tell us about any claim already lodged.

Can you help before the other insurer accepts liability?

Yes, you can send an eligibility enquiry while liability is being considered. Our team will review the information and explain whether Alfa can accept your case. Once we confirm acceptance under our no-cost offer, Alfa carries the risk of recovering the agreed repair and replacement-car hire costs.

Can I get a replacement car during repairs?

Yes. Our accepted not-at-fault cases include agreed replacement-car hire at no cost to you. Tell us about your transport needs when you enquire. We confirm the vehicle and agreed hire period in writing before you accept it. Alfa covers those hire costs even if recovery from the other insurer is unsuccessful.

Can I enquire if I am uninsured or only have third-party cover?

Yes. You can enquire even if you do not have comprehensive insurance. We assess the accident circumstances and available information. If Alfa accepts your case under our no-cost offer, you pay nothing for the agreed repairs and replacement-car hire.

How long will my not-at-fault repair take?

Timing depends on the damage, assessment and approvals, parts supply and workshop availability. After the repair scope is understood, we discuss the expected schedule and collection arrangements. Photos alone cannot confirm a repair date.

Can I send photos before bringing the car in?

Yes. The final step of our eligibility form accepts up to four JPG, PNG or WebP photos, maximum 3 MB each. Include a wider view and close-ups of the damage. Photos help us plan the next step; an inspection may still be needed to identify hidden damage and confirm the repair scope.
